Should Your Website Have a Holiday Hours Page?
3 min read · October 5, 2026
Around holidays, one of the most common questions a business gets is simply "are you open?" Whether that deserves a whole page depends on how much your schedule actually changes.
A banner is usually enough
If you're just closed for a day or two, a short notice at the top of the site and updated hours on your contact page do the job. A whole page for it can be overkill.
When a dedicated page earns its place
- You have several locations with different holiday schedules
- You offer emergency or on-call service and the arrangement changes on holidays
- Your hours shift for a long seasonal stretch rather than a single day
Keep every place consistent
Your website, your Google Business Profile, and your social pages should all say the same thing. A customer who sees different hours in different places will trust none of them.
Remove it when it's over
An outdated holiday notice is worse than none at all. Put a reminder to take it down, in line with the point made in keeping a site current.
